Today’s post brings a heads-up that US shopping site Rue La La are hosting another sale on Pandora on Friday (19th May)! The sale will offer discounts of up to 50% on retired Pandora products, and usually includes charms, jewellery and watches.

There aren’t new styles this time around, but there is still plenty of beautiful jewellery up for grabs if you missed out last time! These include a fair amount of limited edition pieces, including the Club Charm 2016, the Mother’s Day 2016 LE heart, and the Mother’s Day 2016 LE bangle. :o The other bead that jumps out at me is the amazing London Bus, which is adorably quirky with its Union Flag enamelwork – it’s actually the bead that got me totally and completely obsessed with Pandora!

pandora rue la la may 2017

I get asked this question a lot, and so I’ll answer it here to be clear: Rue La La are an authorised US Pandora retailer and only sell the genuine article! So you can buy with confidence – I have been doing so for years.

The sale starts on Friday (the 19th of May) at 11am ET. Rue La La have said that they expect the sale to run for seven to ten days, but the end date is not confirmed yet. Just a reminder, also, Rue La La have started offering international shipping to a select number of countries, and offer proper integration with international credit cards now! Plus, for certain countries (not all, apparently), if you spend over $100 USD, then you only have to pay $9.95 USD to ship internationally.

Rue La La is a members-only website, but you can use my affiliate invite link to access the website. Happy shopping!

  1. I am interested in getting the bound by love Mother’s Day 2016, I predict that may go fast.

    • You’re welcome! The sales run pretty regularly at month intervals, with the occasional flash sale in between ?

  2. Thanks Ellie for the heads up.

I just checked Rue La La’s website and there is a flashing message that says Free duty for all orders for Canada only.
Have you ever seen this add or heard comments about it. Just wondering if their affiliated company Borderfree will know about this hahahaha…I would be happy to save $$$$$

I think I will need to revise my wish list…???

    • I see the message too, free duty until July 1. Duty for me is usually pretty minimal though, 2 or 3 dollars on most of my orders. I’d rather get free shipping.

      • Wow? for me it’s around 50$ when my order is less than 200$ so it is expensive. The exchange rate is also high and shipping is 14$. Anyhow, I do like the excitement of ordering and receiving by mail some retired charms. ?

I keep telling myself “ok it’s my last order” but than something pops up and I just know I have to get these before it’s too late. lol???

        • I still have a screen cap of my last order, which I make for reference until emails arrive: so here, rounding, items were 53.00, shipping was 21.00, duty and taxes were 10.00. Duty is always included with taxes, I think. If Rue ever shows them separately during the checkout process, I haven’t noticed. I should pay more attention! I’ll have to order something tomorrow and pay attention. ;-)

        • Lola, you are absolutely right. I checked my last order and duty and taxes are together ? that means it’s not so bad after all.?
          You just made my day!?

    • Hi Rachelle! Rue La La have told me that this offer is live now through to July 1 for orders shipped to Canada via Borderfree. Shipping is still $9.95 USD for orders over $100 USD, and Borderfree is aware of this promo. Hope that helps! <3

      • Thank you so much Ellie for this info.

I am getting my wish list up to date in order to be focus & faster this time when I place my order. The Guard my heart charm was sold out by the time I finished my order? I want to add this one to my Christmas theme bracelet since it reminds me of a Nutcracker. I do collect them and this charm looks so cute. We do have these guards also in Canada at the Parliament Hill.

Last week I purchased the maple leaf with red zirconia and think it could go on this bracelet but for now, it’s on my tai chi bracelet. I do tend to keep colors to match. I am also thinking of getting the lion dance. I tell you my wish list never ends. Hahaha

      • But 100 USD is 137 CAD, which becomes 170 CAD with shipping and taxes. Rarely can I find enough things I want to make the USD limit, and I’m not one who can buy what I don’t want just to get lower or free shipping. That’s such a scam.

Rue offers a year of free shipping for 50.00. I keep getting the email and deleting it because it frustrates me. They’re making money on that offer or they wouldn’t offer it, which means they’re gouging on shipping overall.

Being frustrated at their gouging doesn’t stop me from buying tho. :-) Shipping cost is just a factor.

        • Hi Lola,
For me the shipping fees are not such a problem since I need to travel 40km x2 to travel to my nearest Pandora store.

For me the exchange rate is the biggest factor because when the sale is 50% US, it means so much less for Canadians.

I have been catching up by ordering the most wanted beads this year ( my bank account is saying ouch!!!) In the future, I plan to slow down (yes that’s the plan and hope for the best) and get my favorite items when they become available at Costco warehouse.

Pandora is making more and more charms with zirconia to increase their prices and get another clientèle which is very sad. I prefer the plain or two tones charms and some enamel when it’s needed.

Anyhow, I am happy Rue La La allows us to get those precious retired beads.?♥️?

  3. I’ve always resisted looking at Rue La La, but I just took a peek. Wish I hadn’t looked, LOL! I shall peek again on Friday. Thanks Ellie!

      • Oh my goodness, there were so many things I wanted to buy! But I decided I had better wait for the free leather bracelet promo here in Canada. I’m glad I now know what all the fuss is about, though!

  4. Hi Ellie! Thanks so much for the heads up! I have been wanting the Carousel charm for so long! I need to get one before it disappears completely!?❤?

    • Excellent plan! :D I love the Carousel bead! I picked up the Oopsie Daisy dangle myself. I’ve been trying to talk myself out of buying that one for, I don’t know, months, but I just caved and got it. Why fight the inevitable? ;)

  5. Hey Ellie, just did a major haul at the Pandora outlet store here in the US. They gave away the Mother’s Day limited edition bangle for every $125 spend. This was on top of the deep discounts. I’m almost finished with my retired two toned collection which is bitter sweet because I’m not fond of any of the new stuff!

    • Hi Marsha, ooh what a great deal! Your outlets sound so much better than ours here in the UK. I’ve got almost all the two-tone beads I’d like as well, but I’d also like a couple of the much longer retired ones – the beehive has caught my eye lately, and I’d also like that two-tone garden hat dangle… they don’t really do two-tone character charms in the same way anymore!

  6. The banner looks really good. Seems like rue sale happens very regularly these days. Definitely will check it out.

  7. So soon again! I ordered on the last day of the last sale and just received my order yesterday. :-) Pretty sure I’ll pass on this one.

And the sale end dates change. They’ll start with one end date, say 10 days, then extend it on day 9. It’s psychological marketing. :-) I’ve yet to see Rue stick to a Pandora sale original end date. Last sale they went long, short, then long again.

    • Yeah, the end dates do change a lot, but at least this time they were up front about that with me haha!

      • :-) When this sale started it stated 2 days, and I laughed, and watched everything sell-out. Then later in the day it was 9 days, and I laughed again. Lol. Rue knows how to sell. I usually wait until the last day, then if what I think I want is still there, I buy it. I’ll buy early most if I’m buying as gifts.

Ellie, do you know if the Essence pearl Dignity bead is discontinued in North America? It’s been “out of stock” at the Canada and US e-stores for months now, but always in stock at the UK store. And you know, I’ve never visited the US or UK e-stores before today, and I’m shocked now at how limited our choices are here in Canada. You both have so much more, and so much more available online! And the US actually has slashed prices!!!!!!

        • If it’s discontinued, it’s not official yet! I’ve certainly not seen it on any retirement list floating around so far.

        • Well, permanently out of stock online and in stores equals discontinued. It’s like we can only buy the Essence mosaic beads in-store, but my store only carries the blue-grey. They’ve never received the white or pink. My store is an hour drive, the next closest is a three hour drive. I phoned them, they never received the white or pink either. So while Pandora website shows all three beads available to us, they’re really not. :-(

  8. Hiya!

Thanks for your link to Ruelala – I’d never heard of it except through your post and wasn’t sure how it worked! Anyway I had a look out of interest and there were a few interesting charms that I liked but would have just been getting for the sake of it.

However there was one charm which I have bought, actually as a present for my Mum who loves vibrant colours. It was the Silver tropical flower Murano which is a lovely bright orange as its base overlaid with white flowers with a bright yellow stem. I haven’t seen this in the UK and was really pleased even though I did end up paying £40 (taxes and postage inc) for it which isn’t much of a saving but worth it because I know it will be really well received!

Thanks again for the heads up and the link!

    • Hi Kerry! Oh, well I’m glad that you did find something :) I got that one from Rue as well, and it looks gorgeous with the pink Field of Daisies on my Pandora Rose bracelet <3 I hope your mum loves it!

  9. Hello Ellie,

I am so happy right now I could dance hahaha… I just received my order confirmation from Borderfree / Rue La La. I picked my items as fast as I could before they would disappear at the final checkout step.?

I am finally??? getting my Up&Away balloun to go on my starry blue theme bracelet and also the midnight effervescence murano to match my starry murano. I have been admiring the pictures from your blog and it convinced me to be on my wishlist.

Also getting the little Guard my heart soldier?? and the pinecone charms for my Christmas theme bracelet. Told my hubby it would be my Xmas presents ? (but might be wearing it when the snow falls). Lol

To finish my Fairy theme bracelet, the Nightingale bird cage is coming home too! The frog prince is still on my wish list but was hoping to get a lower deal. Oh well? I had to stop moneywise?

    • Hi Rachelle! Yay, I’m so happy that you found the balloon! I’ve been looking for that one for ages, too, but then it cropped up in the UK eStore’s sale a couple of months ago and I snapped it up there. I’d have been dancing too otherwise! ^^

The Guard my Heart is another favourite, as is the Nightingale. You picked some lovely, lovely beads!

  10. I decided to check this out, and 2 of my wishlist items (penguin family and Guardian of Travel) were there! My bracelet is travel-focused and we got to take a penguin tour at SeaWorld. Very excited to find your blog and this site.

    • Amazing! I was and am quite tempted by the penguins, but I just don’t know how I’d style them. I’ll have a think and, if they’re still there when I come up with something, then I might indulge! ^^ Glad to have helped you find them :D

  11. Hi Ellie,

Hope all is well. I have some interesting news. I ha e stumbled across the rare retired original perfume bottle with the gemstone on top and the word pan on it. It was donated to a local organization for charity. I am hoping to score this, what a find I understand it to be.

    • Ellie, I went back and looked with my glasses it does not have the words pan on it but it’s the same one you featured before with the orange gemstone on top.

      • Ah, that’s a shame – but that one is still a HTF bead these days! It’s not as easy to find some of the much older beads as it used to be these days :)

  12. Hi Ellie!

I was hopefully stalking some charms on RueLaLa when I saw your post, but something even better happened today! I went to my first Pandora outlet today in Niagara, Canada, and they were coincidentally having a sale for retired charms this weekend! I ended up getting 5 charms: Mrs. Hedgehog, the Easter Bunny, Peace Dove, the Peacock, and the faceted purple murano pendant (the one shaped as a teardrop). My favourite has to be Mrs. Hedgehog although the dove and peacock are also both gorgeous. I just love how she has a little bow on her head and a purse! I was so excited because on RueLaLa for Canadian buyers, you need to be about $14 CAD shipping + taxes, so it ended up being cheaper by far at the outlet…I would have paid more for four charms on RueLaLa than I did to get give from the outlet! Plus I get to take them home with me right away which is a huge bonus!! I’m usually not that fond of outlet stores but today was a super successful haul. Here’s a picture of what I got today:

Love that you’re updating the blog so much these days!

    • Hi Sharon,

Oh amazing! I am so envious of your outlets over there. I saw that they’re having an extra 25% off at the moment, too. You picked gorgeous beads! I have all of them bar the purple murano drop. Miss Hedgehog is a favourite of mine, too <3 Thanks for sharing the picture!

Yay, I'm so glad you're enjoying the updates! I have some more planned for this week as well :) catching up on reviews!
